How will we get to the Elk Rock Island
A boat will be taking all floaters (and their floation devices) from the dock at Milwaukie Bay Park to Elk Rock Island. Volunteers will be on hand to make sure everyone has their life jackets on and to assist with getting into and out of the boat.
I have young kids - will they be able to join?
Yes! The Little Float is great for the whole family. The boat will take all of your family members and your floatation devices to the island. Life jackets will be required for everyone participating.
Can I park by the island and walk in?
The City of Milwaukie has requested we strictly control how many folks are on the island at any given time, so we ask that you please meet us at the dock at Milwaukie Bay Park to catch a ride at your scheduled time.
Will there be safety professionals around to keep us safe?
Absolutely! We have volunteers, licensed medical professionals, and safety officers on hand throughout the event to help keep everyone safe. All participants are required to wear a life jacket while floating so we can all enjoy a fun and safe day on the water.
How long does the float take?
Getting to the island will take about 10 minutes and the float back to the dock can take between 20 and 30 minutes to complete.
What's going on at the park?
Will there be food available?
Yes! There will be food for sale by Good Measure, a beer garden will be hosted The Beer Store, and additional food and snack vendors may be available day of. Additional food is available a short walk away in downtown Milwaukie.
Do I need to actually float to join the party in the park?
No! Please feel free to come join the many downtown businesses and vendors that will be at the park to enjoy the food, drinks, desserts and other wares from our downtown and other local businesses. You may see how much fun everyone is having on the water and decide to join!

Where does the money from this event go?
Proceeds from Little Float Milwaukie will go to Downtown Alliance of Milwaukie a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to fostering growth, revitalization, and a strong sense of community in the heart of Downtown Milwaukie, Oregon.

The Downtown Alliance of Milwaukie (DAM) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and revitalizing Downtown Milwaukie. Its mission is to help local businesses establish, grow, and thrive while enhancing the downtown experience for residents and visitors alike. Through partnerships with businesses, community members, and local organizations, DAM works to create a vibrant and welcoming downtown by supporting economic development, promoting local businesses, and organizing community events throughout Downtown Milwaukie and at Milwaukie Bay Park.
