LIttle Float
Do i need to bring my own float?
While we will have extra floats on hand, we highly recommend you bring your own. Additionally there will be a contest for float decorations, so feel free to make your float stand out!
How will we get to the Elk Rock Island
A boat will be taking all floaters (and their floation devices) from the dock at Milwaukie Bay Park to Elk Rock Island. Volunteers will be on hand to make sure everyone has their life jackets on and to assist with getting into and out of the boat.
I have young kids - will they be able to join?
Yes! The Little Float is great for the whole family. The boat will take all of your family members and your floatation devices to the island. Life jackets will be required for everyone participating.
Can i just park by the island and walk in?
The City of Milwaukie has requested we strictly control how many folks are on the island at any given time, so we ask that you please meet us at the dock at Milwaukie Bay Park to catch a ride at your scheduled time.
How long does the float take?
Getting to the island will take about 10 minutes and the float back to the dock can take between 20 and 30 minutes to complete.
What's going on at the park?
Will there be food available?
Yes! Hot dogs have been generously donated by Good Measure and additional food, drink and dessert vendors will be on hand to feed you before and after your float.
Do i need to actually float to join the party in the park?
No! Please feel free to come join the many downtown businesses and vendors that will be at the park to enjoy the food, drinks, desserts and other wares from our downtown and other local businesses. You may see how much fun everyone is having on the water and decide to join!
Dinner on Elk Rock Island
Is the dinner actually on the island?
Yes! We received special permission to host 2 dinners of up to 20 people on the island. Special care will be taken to preserve the grounds and the surrounding natural areas.
How will we get to the dinner?
The current plan is to take dinner guests over by boat from the Milwaukie Bay Park dock to the beach on the north end of the island.
